Direct Access Licence.
Any candidate currently 21 or over can take what is known as a Direct Access Licence. This will allow such person to obtain a Full Unrestricted Licence. The introduction of the EU third Directive will see the increase in the minimum age requiems for Direct Access from 21 to 24 years of age.
The Direct Access course is for people who do not wish to be restricted in any way as to the size of the motorcycle they wish to ride. You will be introduced to theory and then the CBT is carried out on one of our 125cc machines, the road training commences on the same machine until you have gained adequate experience of road procedures and skills enough to satisfy your instructor that you can be transferred to the 500cc motorcycle. Your training will continue on the larger bike and when you display the required skills to pass the pursuit test you will be allocated a place on the next available test day.
Additional hours of road training can be purchased beyond the standard 18 hours of tuition if the Direct Access student feels it would benefit their riding skills. These extra hours of road training are also suitable for those people wishing to brush up on their skills after an absence from motorcycling.
